Our most recent show, the musical “Welcome to the Institute” was based upon the experiences of day centres, hostels, hospitals and homes of the writer/composer Leigh Stirling. Much of it was based on recordings of people who experienced these institutions.
Fittings have received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to archive Leigh's original recordings and to add to these by interviewing disabled people to-day.
The recordings will be used as part of a exhibition at DaDaFest International in September and will eventually be stored in the National Sound Archive.
